ReStore Driver – Donation Pick-ups

Summary/Objective

Responsible for assisting customers in the operation of the ReStore. The associate will assist in the pick-up of donated items, handle and/or allocate donated items, and assist customers when needed. This position requires good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to use professional values and ethics to effectively interact with others, strong time management skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for pickup of various donated items that are sold in the ReStore.
  • Loads and unloads ReStore box trucks.
  • Drives box trucks of 16’ and 26’ across Santa Fe in urban, suburban and rural areas.
  • Packs, unpacks, and marks items using identification tag, stamp, electric marking tool, or other labeling equipment.
  • Inspects and maintains ReStore vehicles.
  • Keeps ReStore vehicles clean and addresses potential hazards.
  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files, processing paperwork and logging pickups in donor tracking system
  • Support the store manager as directed.
  • Participate on deconstruction projects as needed.
  • Check daily update of the donation calendar to reflect any changes.
  • Provide support and ideas to constantly improve all aspects of the ReStore.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a retail store. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, tablets, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate performs the following activities: standing; walking; working overtime and Saturdays; exposure to heat, wind, and rain; driving box trucks and operating warehouse equipment; ability to lift 90 pounds or more.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. The typical workweek is Monday – Saturday with a day off during the week. The day off will change on a weekly basis. The ReStore locations are closed on Sunday.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age (Drivers 18-21 must have clean driving record and 1 year driving experience).
  • Valid driver license, CDL preferred.
  • 3 years driving experience of any specialized vehicle.
  • Customer service experience- 1 year. 
  • Have no type A violations in the last 5 years. 
  • Have no license suspension or revocation in the last 3 years.
  • Have no more than a total of 3 Type B violations in the last 3 years. 
  • Have no more than a total of 3 accidents (regardless of fault) in the last 3 years.
